Older properties often need more than decoration. We take on full refurbishments — rewiring, replumbing, replastering and reconfiguring layouts — as well as single rooms, working to a written programme so you know which trade is on site and when.

Loft Conversions

Most lofts have more usable space than people expect. We will tell you honestly at the survey whether yours has the head height to work, then handle the structural alterations, stairs, insulation and finishing — including the fire and escape requirements building control will ask about.

External Wall Insulation

Solid-wall properties lose a great deal of heat through the walls, and external insulation is usually the most effective fix. It also gives the outside of the building a fresh, weatherproof finish, so it is worth considering if the render is tired anyway.

Loft Insulation

A quarter of a home's heat can escape through an uninsulated roof, and loft insulation is one of the cheapest ways to deal with it. We top up or replace existing material to current recommended depth, and make sure ventilation is not blocked in the process.

Internal Wall Insulation

Where external insulation is not practical — a conservation area, or a frontage you would rather not change — insulating from the inside achieves much of the same benefit. It needs care to avoid trapping moisture, which is exactly the sort of detail we survey for first.

How do you work out a price?
We come out and look at the job first. Every property is different, and quoting a roof from a photograph is how people end up with a bill that does not match the estimate. Once we have seen it you get an itemised written quote, and that is the price you pay unless you ask us to change the scope.
What if the job I need is not on your list?
Then it is almost certainly still something we can help with. The six services we list are simply the work we are asked for most often — between them our team covers most of what a building needs. Choose 'Custom job / something else' on the contact form, tell us what you are dealing with, and we will either quote for it or tell you honestly that it is not our trade and point you at someone whose it is. Custom work is priced after an inspection rather than from a starting figure, because there is no meaningful average.
Do you charge for quotes or call-outs?
Quotes are free and there is no obligation. We do not charge a call-out fee for quoting new work. Emergency call-outs to an existing problem outside working hours are charged, and we will tell you the rate before we set off.
When do I pay, and how?
For most jobs there is nothing to pay until the work is finished and you are happy with it. Larger projects such as extensions are staged against agreed milestones, set out in the quote before we start. We take bank transfer and card, and you get a VAT invoice for everything.
How long will the work take?
Gutter clearing is usually a couple of hours. Most repairs and decorating jobs run from a day to a week. Extensions and renovations are measured in weeks or months, and we give you a written programme with the quote. If the timescale slips we tell you as soon as we know, not afterwards.
Is your work guaranteed?
Yes. Workmanship is guaranteed for twelve months as standard, and longer on major works such as re-roofs. Manufacturer warranties on materials are passed straight to you. If something is not right, we come back and put it right at no cost.
Are you insured, and what happens if something goes wrong?
We carry comprehensive public liability insurance on every job and are happy to send the certificate over before you commit to anything. In the unlikely event of damage, it is dealt with through our insurance rather than becoming your problem.
